In this third book in the 'Book of One' series, the god unleashes war upon the land, breaking the ancient peace that heralded the age. Ancient foes awaken to challenge the shadows and the lies as vows are remembered and power is taken. The child of fire enters the circle and a dragon is born.

Well the good news is that the editing is better. It is by no means perfect but it is better than the first two so the author seems to be improving in that area. In the last books review I mentioned how all the different characters are stretching the story. Well I stand by that. They are constantly joining and separating. Brian? Someone who the author felt we needed to know about in previous books? Yeah....he doesn't show up in this one.

The characters themselves are still making bad or strange decisions. They grasp new abilities incredibly fast, it at times just feels rushed. One thing you should know about this book is that it is mainly involving Ariana. There are other characters of course but she is the constant with others seemingly the spice.

The characters path just seems as though it is one big jumbled mess. We learn some big things about some characters but not WHO some are. Each book in this series so far has left me kind of, well, I just don't really care. If the author can get the next book out as quick as previous ones I may pick it up, otherwise I can see myself shelving it.

A Dragon Born Book of One series 3 eBook Jordan Baker Reviews

This book in the series is a bit more difficult to understand. Many new characters were introduced with powers not revealed before. It slowed down the comprehension of the story, but I am not giving up on the series. On to the next one.

A Good piece of storytelling. Its rare to see such a great series straight off from a new author The plot has great depth and the back story unfolds at a good pace without info dumps. Unfortunately after this book the series tapers off quite sharply however I really did enjoy this addition to the series
The first, second and third books should have been two books. Had that been the case I would feel much more charitable toward Jordan Baker. However, while I consider this a good yarn, I must say that all of the errors made this a less than great read. Some good editing is very much needed! There are numerous typos and missing words.
I generally avoid fantasies with god characters as they usually are very two dimensional and bland. This bleeds over to the rest of the story figures too.
However, this series does not follow the norm. The gods and the rest of the figures (even side characters like Kasha and Keira)
have real depth.
The magic system is nicely developed and the world map is adequately broad.

The only negative point in this installment as compared to the previous two was that Aaron did not get a lot of chapters. As such he did not evolve as much as the other main characters.

All in all the series is a really good addition to the 'magic and sword' family of fantasy books.
I really like the plot but I could do with more action. It seems there is too much explaining going on!Ariana and Aaron both seem a little thick at times.I mean come on how long does it take to figure out what is right in front of your face. There are interesting characters in this series and I enjoy meeting the new ones.I will continue till the end I am hooked.
This book has me rooting for every character and NOT skipping chapters. I even like reading about the Villains. Unlike with George R. Martin, I care about each of the characters involved. This series is epic.

If there is one criticism that I have, it's that the story takes its own pace. Some things take longer than I want them to and I can't control what is being focused on by the plot. But that's minor thing. The editing in this book is better, but I am not a good judge of this type of thing.

This series has me hitting f5 on the author's page to see the next book when it comes out. It's supposed to be out this month.
Some very intriguing developments with several characters and their histories in the world. At the same time, some severly repetitive nonsense and some aggravating stupidity that seemed Jordan Baker was running off fumes.

Still a great story and something for all types of readers to enjoy!
